Wireless Sensor Networks are considered as a most enabling technology that holds confront of offering smart communication model where application development based on requirements. Cognitive agents are competent of generating proactive decisions with respect to sharing information when combined in sensor networks which helps in attaining the objective of the sensor network, in optimization crisis and enormous constraints. Cognitive radio (CR) at the physical layer facilitates opportunistic utilization of heterogeneous environment where sensor network is deployed. CR provides appealing solution for proficient utilization of radio frequency spectrum and has increased interest over field of research as of current years. Spectrum sensing (SS) is the principle target of CR and recognizes nearness of idle channel of the frequency spectrum. CR, an intelligent SS innovation distinguishes white spaces or spectrum hole areas in the range which reallocates idle spectrum to unlicensed clients known as Secondary Users (SU) and without making destructive interference to clients known as Primary Users (PU). In this paper, a technique for predicting the channel state utilizing Discrete Markov Model (DMM) is anticipated. A comprehensive investigation is done amongst anticipated strategy with the conventional spectrum sensing method. Here, a framework of spectrum sensing utilized in cognitive radio sensor networks (CRSN) are discussed and analyzed using MATLAB simulator.
