Theory and Experiment of ILS Localizer Course Line Electronic Adjustment

The article presents the behavior of the sum of the modulation depths (SDM) of the localizer (LOC) depending on the azimuth angle in case the modulation depths of 90 Hz and 150 Hz signals changed in order to shift the course line (electronic adjustment of the position of the ILS localizer course). The experimental dependences and calculation results are presented, with explaining of the reasons for the behavior of the dependencies. The recommendations for developing the construction of the localizer transmitter are given in the paper.
