Rupali Singh, Devendra Kumar Sharma · 2018
Reversible logic is an emerging technology which has a potential to deal with power consumption. Consequently ultra low power digital circuits can be successfully designed applying reversible logic to assure today's technological requirements. In this paper author presents the design of very fundamental component of digital sequential family i.e. reversible dual edge triggered D flip flop. The suggested design intends to form a reversible flip flop modified in respect of number of reversible gates, delay and thus minimizes the complexity of the circuit. This design is further realized in CMOS and carefully analyzed for power consumption. Moreover the same proposed design is additionally perceived with Quantum Dot Cellular Automata (QCA) which is an attractive future perspective for near future. These optimized designs will definitely fortify the performance of the sequential circuits pertaining to size and power utilization.
