A Cognitive radio sensor network (CRSN) is characterized as a circulated system of remote intellectual radio sensor hubs, which sense an occasion flag and cooperatively impart their readings powerfully over accessible range groups in a multi-bounce way to fulfil the application particular necessities. Spectrum sensing is a technique used by the secondary users to detect whether the primary users are busy or idle, the main problem in spectrum sensing is it causes degradation in primary user throughput. In this paper a new spectrum sensing method is used to improve spectrum sensing performance and energy efficiency, in addition to provide fast transmission to secondary users dijkstra algorithm is used, in this algorithm shortest path to the destination is calculated and data is transmitted with less energy consumption. To avoid interference and provide protection to primary user another spectrum sensing is adaptively performed with respect to the first sensing result that is the secondary user will perform spectrum sensing again to confirm the first sensing result which indicated the primary user is idle. Hence the proposed method increases the energy efficiency and avoids interference to the primary users. The simulation shows the comparison of energy efficiency for existing and proposed method. The tool used for the simulation is Network Simulator.
