Flexible scheduling mechanisms in L4

This thesis presents the design, implementation, and evaluation of a new scheduling mechanism for the L4 -kernel, running on the Alpha 21264 processor. This design concentrates on hierarchical resource management, by which an application is free to manage its own resources, enabling it to take advantage of domain specific knowledge.
