Unconstrained Band-pass Optimized Correlation Filter (UBoCF): An application to face recognition

An unconstrained band-pass optimized correlation filter(UBoCF) is proposed for illumination invariant and noise tolerant face recognition. A wavelet filter is combined with high-pass filter to achieve the band-pass filter. Proposed high-pass filter is of unconstrained type correlation filter. The proposed UBoCF is further optimized to achieve single correlation approach instead of multi-correlation. The proposed filter has an ability to overcome both illumination and noisy problems during face classification. The comparative performance of UBoCF is evaluated with standard databases. Better accuracy comparing to other correlation filters is reported here.
