Filtering of quantum states with plasmonic metamaterial absorber

We use single-photon interference on a metamaterial absorber to demonstrate quantum state filtering by dissipation, exploiting the metamaterial’s ability to distinguish between symmetric and anti-symmetric superpositions of a two-path wave function.
