Multicarrier Constant-Envelope Multiplexing Technique by Subcarrier Vectorization for New Generation GNSSs

Junjie Ma, Zheng Qiang Yao, Mingquan Lu · IEEE Communications Letters · 2019

Multicarrier constant-envelope multiplexing (CEM) techniques are those that combine different signals at several adjacent carrier frequencies into a composite signal with constant envelope, which is an important characteristic in global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs). In this letter, we propose a multicarrier CEM technique based on equivalent signal vectors. This new technique simplifies the multicarrier CEM design by vectorizing the sinusoidal subcarriers, and achieves both high multiplexing efficiency and high flexibility. Performance analysis and application examples are also given in this letter. The technique proposed in this letter could be used in new generation GNSSs.
