This paper discusses three different accelerometer placements for Acoustic Dyadic sensors (ADS) for Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation for underwater applications. Star, delta and square configurations have been used to project the acoustic velocity gradient along the orthogonal axes to find Direction of Arrival (DoA) of an acoustic source. Simulation study has been done to compare the DoA estimation accuracy for different configurations in terms of Root Mean Square Angular Error (RMSAE) in the presence of underwater ambient noise as well as in presence of an interfering source. The underwater ambient noise is assumed to be additive colored Gaussian noise. From the study it is infer that the star configuration of ADS giving minimum RMSAE compared to the other two configurations.
