Applicability of Lightweight Stream Cipher in Crowd Computing: A Detailed Survey and Analysis
Subhrajyoti Deb, Rohit Kumar Upadhya, Bubu Bhuyan · 2018
This chapter presents security and privacy issues in the context of heterogeneous devices. The Internet of Things (IoT) intends to connect billions of smart and constrained objects to the Internet. It provides the taxonomy of the lightweight stream cipher. The chapter explains the randomness test analysis of the stream cipher. It also provides an overview of common lightweight stream cipher theoretical attacks. The chapter discusses the taxonomy, characteristics, advantages, and cryptographic features of the stream cipher. Before starting the stream cipher, it needs to address the basic terms of cryptology. The word cryptology is the combination of two Greek words, kryptos and logia. Cryptography is the study of mathematical techniques used for achieving secured communication over an unsecured channel. Crowd computing is an opportunistic system for both machine and crowd. Many researchers have recommended lightweight stream ciphers for practical use in the context of communication, cloud, IoT, and embedded systems.
