Frequency Measurement by FFT and Frequency Counting

This paper proposes a method for frequency measurement by FFT and frequency counting(FC) in FPGA. It can be used in automobile Doppler radar system. Nowadays, frequency counting and FFT has been widely used in frequency measurement while they have disadvantages. This method combines the FFT and FC into a system. It can obtain the more accurate data of vehicles whether in high frequency of low frequency. This can improve the accuracy of blind area detection and avoid accidents effectively. Ordinary users’ demand can be meet easily because of the low cost of this system. It can be widely used in automotive electronics.
