A Survey of Certificateless Encryption Schemes and Security Models.

Alexander W. Dent · 2006

In this paper we survey the different security models that have been proposed for certificateless encryption, comment on their practical significance, and propose a consistent, new nomenclature for these models. We also survey all known certificateless encryption schemes and point out that there are no known certificateless encryption schemes that achieve the highest levels of security without using the random oracle methodology. Lastly, we discuss the di#culties in proving the security of a certificateless scheme in the standard model, and propose possible ways of finding a solution to this problem.
