A self-controlled precharge free Content Addressable Memory is mainly used in speedy and high-performance searching operation. Here the precharge operation can be eliminated so that the design is preferred in the larger word length CAM to reduce the search time. In the conventional SCPF-CAM, 6T CAM is used but in the proposed method SCPF using 4T CAM is designed so the number of transistors can be reduced as compared to the conventional SCPF-CAM. The area utilised is approximately 20% reduced in this proposed design, and the power consumption also can be reduced.
