In article number 1900636, Shunsuke Fukami and co-workers show a uniform approach for the realization of artificial synapses and neurons, which is based on the inherent dynamics of a magnetic heterostructure and thus allows a single material system and simple operating pulses. The proposed devices may form a hardware basis, which is currently lacking, for large-scale artificial neural networks.
