Computer science has recently found its way into the curriculum of Swiss public schools. As it is a new topic for the teachers, we want to support them with good teaching materials including a simple to use integrated development environment (IDE) for Python programming. The teachers already have a lot of responsibility in delivering good computer science education to their students. That's why we are developing accompanying materials for teaching, which they can use in the classroom without much effort.Without the excellent work of Tobias Kohn with TigerJython and his valuable experiences collected in classrooms as a teacher my work would not have been possible. Moreover, I had the great luck to have him as my direct supervisor. He patiently answered all my questions, and always shared his enthusiasm with me for what I did with my thesis. He also kindly answered all my questions concerning my professional future, and so increasingly took on the role of my personal mentor. My great respect and gratitude go to Prof. Juraj Hromkovič.He has put together the ABZ team composed of wonderful people. With his tireless enthusiasm to work towards a better computer science education in schools, he infects every member of his team.I also thank Jacqueline Staub, Giovanni Serafini and Dennis Komm for their support and open-heartedly invitation to always enter their offices whenever I had a question or needed to talk to somebody. My gratitude goes also to Jan Lichtensteiger
