The problem of intellectual support of human-machine interface (HMI) designers for Process Control Systems is considered.A method for solving this problem in the form of a set of models, technologies and knowledge, forming a new information technology for Control System HMI design is proposed.Software in the form of an Expert System that implements the proposed technology is developed.The use of an Expert System in the HMI design process will improve the efficiency, quality, reliability and safety of Control System operator's activity.
