The current convergence of Medical Science and Information Technology reflects a collective vision of connected devices. These devices are having electronic sensors and circuitry that can monitor and improve healthcare services. With the evolution of technology these healthcare devices can communicate with other personal devices, that's the blessings of the Internet of Things (IoT). These devices are used to measure various body parameter, keep track of health condition, maintain a record of necessary information etc. For daily and continuous operation, these devices are designed in such a way that user can wear it on various part of the body without any additional precaution. This study delivers relevant information on the basic evolution of wearable healthcare devices, their technological advancement, features, drawback, and future improvements. Most of the wearable devices use 3- tier Wireless Body Area Network, where physiological information is sensed and transformed to the controller. The controller processes the data for further analysis and visualization.
