Most of smart services are depending on Internet of Things (IoT) where network of physical objects or (Things embedded with software), electronics, sensors, and network connectivity, which allows these objects to exchange and collect data. Therefore, the high risk of discontinuity such services is very critical when one of these objects goes down in any circumstances. In this paper, a business Continuity management (BCM) approach for IoT can used for IoT services. Where Connectivity, Hardware, Middleware and Visualization are the main function of IoT services, which must addresses the risk of each elements through look at threats and vulnerabilities, and provide the suitable mitigations or work around helps those elements continue the usual work during any emergency or crisis. Using a case study of one of Dubai governmental entities will identify the directions of major root cause failure of IoT elements. The importance of this approach is to establish the BCM framework of IoT public service to gain a high performance activity during emergency.
