Recently, many systems for monitoring and tracking the position of objects such as human and vehicles have already been implemented. These systems are supported by the development of smartphones which is increasingly fast. By utilizing the features of smartphone such as networking, computation, determining the location based on global positioning systems (GPS), and any other functions, these monitoring systems can be easily deployed. However, a security mechanism should be mandatory in these systems especially when assigned to determine the location of a person. In this paper, we propose an implementation of security system for monitoring the location of member in a tour group. We employed RSA-based group signature to authenticate the person is indeed a member of the group and protect his/her privacy of location simultaneously. In addition, the proposed system is able to guarantee the confidentiality, data integrity, and quick location updated of transmitted location information as well. Our initial implementation fully was implemented on Android smartphones and a data center server. Our experimental results showed the practicality of the system which consumes only about 260 ms for signing time on the smartphone and about 330 ms for verification time on the server.
