Unvoiced speech recognition
S Gokulabalan, S. Ramesh · Engineering Reports · 2018
Being speech the most natural way of communicating among humans, it should be possible to use it without complications in any aspect of a human live. Unfortunately, this is not possible in certain situations like inappropriate environments or speaking disable people. Our idea is aimed at assisting them to speak. Efforts have been made to utilize whispered or non-audible silent speech. Electromyography (EMG) sensors are used to monitor the articulatory muscles in order to recognize non-audible silent speech. Unvoiced speech recognition is done from articulatory facial muscles. It contains sufficient information to discriminate a given set of words accurately.
