Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation has been a challenging problem in many applications such as wireless communication, radar, radio astronomy, sonar and navigation. However, the resolution of the Direction-of-Arrival estimation can be intensified by an array antenna system with an inventive signal processing. The DOA based estimation for the multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems have been observed using MUSIC and Wavelet Packet Decomposition on Rayleigh and Rician fading models. Furthermore, in wireless communication, the transmission of signal can be unexpectedly hindered due to a number of obstacles including severe weather conditions like rain that leads to fading of the signals resulting in loss of partial information. The MUSIC algorithm has however, been a winning solution to many parameter estimation problems due to its low computational cost, high resolution, and better stability. The presented methods have been useful to detect the fading scenario for MIMO system and several theoretical and practical simulations also show the effectiveness of this proposed algorithm. This paper thus puts forth an effective parameter to analyze and simulate the DOA evaluation in a wireless communication over fading channels in MIMO systems, which has been augmented on MUSIC and Wavelet Packet Decomposition so as to intensify the performance characteristics and reliability.
