Internet Luring of Female Victims

Along with its positive uses, the Internet has been exploited by perpetrators and utilized for malicious purposes. One such purpose is to lure female victims by using deceitful practices online to trick females into meeting persons who want to commit crimes against them. The tactics utilized by perpetrators to lure female victims varies by perpetrator. Nevertheless, females are primarily lured offline through false promises of love, employment, and fame. The methods used by perpetrators to lure victims and victims' online behaviors, activities, and habits can shed light on the criminal justice policies and practices in this area.
