Size theory as a topological tool for computer vision

In this paper we give an outline of Size Theory and its main results. The usefulness of such a theory in comparing shapes is highlighted byshowing some examples. The robustness of Size Theory with respect to noise and occlusions is pointed out. In addition, an algebraic approach to the theory is presented.
