Noise removals from satellite images are challenging assignment for the researchers. There are so many image de-noising techniques used for noise removal in satellite images. Speckle noise is originated in satellite image, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and medical images. There are various filters having both linear and non-linear characteristics for the reduction of noise in image processing applications. The impulse noise can't be reduced using linear filters and the edges are blurred. The non-linear filters are beat this problems. This research paper put forward a methodical review of various noise removal filters along with their performance analysis factors like SNR. MSE, PSNR, APSNR, BPP & CoC and compared their advantages and disadvantages.
