Hridya P.R., Jimmy Jose · 2019
Grain is a hardware-oriented stream cipher which was one of the finalists of the eSTREAM project. The cipher was modified several times to improve its cryptographic strength and applicability and the different versions together are referred to as the Grain family of ciphers. One among them, Grain-128, got considerable attention and several attacks were mounted against it. The paper discusses major attacks that were proposed against Grain family of ciphers, and Grain-128 in particular.
