The goal of this thesis is to get to know audio power amplifiers and their capabilities. In order to better understand pros and cons of each class an overview was made of parameters that determine capabilities of a power amplifier. Principles of operation of each class are shown in order to get a better insight of the differences between them and along with that, an insight of the differences in efficiency. In the end a measuring was conducted on two audio power amplifier classes to see the differences in efficiency, signal distortion, frequency response etc.
