Filters bank design based in the cochlear macromechanics for speech synthesis

Mario Jiménez Hernández · 2019

This paper presents the design of a triangular filters bank that models the macromechanical behavior of the cochlea. The solutions developed by Jiménez to the model of Lesser and Berkeley using resonance analysis and the distance-frequency relation in the basilar membrane using the parameters of Neely are used. An interval of distance is defined in the cochlea and divided in equidistant segments by finite differences, their respective frequencies are used for the construction of a cochlear filters bank. The frequency spectrum of speech signals is analyzed with the filters designed and the original signals are synthesized using the most representative harmonics obtained in each filters.
