This paper presents the results of numerical experiments. The models the optimal allocation of information resources on the nodes of the distributed information processing system (IPS) were compared. They are implemented on the basis of a two-tier and three-tier client-server architecture. The article presents a conceptual model of the functioning of a distributed IPS based on a three-tier client-server architecture. It also shows a mathematical model for determining the stationary probabilities of network states and the average system response time to user requests.
