Analysis and Study of Multimedia Streaming and Congestion Evading Algorithms in Heterogeneous Network Environment

Over the last decade, consumer internet traffic has grown multi-fold, out of which video streaming services alone have contributed for nearly 70% of it. Such services demand real time delivery deadline to increase customer satisfaction. Nevertheless issues such as playout disturbances adversely impact the quality of customer viewing experience. By this approach users can avail to pay for what they use. Lot of algorithms is proposed for describing the various congestion controls in multimedia streaming. This paper gives detailed survey of various algorithms that are implemented to overcome the general issues found in multimedia streaming. Additionally, the paper provides a comparative analysis with respect to Quality of Service, focusing on congestion as the main issue.
