User Interface and User Experience
Christopher Carman · 2018
This chapter identifies roles that leverage visual development skills within a web/mobile game pipeline by examining how user interface (UI) and user experience compare and their roles within a digital product. User experience involves the emotional response elicited from a human – computer interaction. This can be applied to all types of human – computer interactions, whether it&s;s making a call on our smartphone or navigating the menu on our media player. The nature of the work requires continuous interaction with the art, game design, and product teams. User experience artist. A graphic/shape – based design sensibility can be more effective than a rendered painterly approach for minigames and will infuse stylistic variety in the overall project materials. It explores supplemental mobile game portfolio materials in the form of basic UI elements and the side-scroll game view. Finally, the chapter completes a side-scroll concept that included three basic UI elements.
