Breast Cancer Cell-Nuclei Extraction Using Modified Multi-Phase Level Sets

Medical images play a vital role in prognosis and treatment. Digital image segmentation methodologies aid in identifying the segmented image features with better accuracy and provide the correct status on disease. In this paper, a modified segmentation methodology using Multi-Phase Level Sets is proposed that overcomes intensity inhomogeneities problem and improves smoothing for extracted cell-nuclei segmented result. The proposed methodology provides greater efficiency and optimum segmentation measures over the literature methods.
