Poverty is a severe problem that affects children development over the world. Living in poor zones increases the risks of kidnapping and violence, contributing to school desertion among other effects on childhood development. In this work, we propose Security Bubble, a tool for child tracking in restricted environments where cellular networks are either not available, or parents are not in possibility to pay for a subscription service. We relate the process design of the Security Bubble Bracelet, following user-centered design techniques conducted by a trans-disciplinary team with the help of kids from Camino Verde, a neighborhood with some of the highest indexes of insecurity and poverty of Tijuana, Mexico. We evaluated our design with a viability test exercise and collected the perceived intention of use of Camino Verde kids.
