Marcus Nolte, Thomas Form, Susanne Ernst, Robert Graubohm, Markus Maurer · 2018
The Carolo-Cup1is an annual international student competition in the field of automated driving. Inspired from the Darpa Urban Challenge in 2007, interdisciplinary student teams compete in constructing a 1:10 scale vehicle to fulfill several driving tasks from parking to obstacle evasion in small-scale rural-road and suburban scenarios. In 2018, the competition was conducted for the 11th time. In this paper we describe the origins of the Carolo-Cup, its impact on teaching at TU Braunschweig, and give a short overview over the developments of the last eleven years.
