In this experience report we present the evolution of our introductory programming sequence from a two course Pascal based course in 1981 to a three course Java / Web Programming / Multi-Platform based course today. In particular, we describe a relatively new project assigned in the third semester of the sequence that encourages students to experiment with new technologies.
