Heralded entanglement concentration of nonlocal photons assisted by doublesided optical microcavities

Abstract Assisted by a system with quantum dot (QD) embedded in doublesided microcavity, we present an entanglement concentration protocol (ECP) for two nonlocal photons with a heralded pattern, which makes this protocol intrinsically robust to the unexpected experimental detrimental effects. In addition, by using a pair of entangled QD spins, the ECP works in a parallel style but a cascade one. We assess the success probability and feasibility of this scheme and show it can be implemented with current technology.
