Internet Of Thing (IoT) is an emerging paradigm appeared with the explosion of the number of devices connected to the Internet, it can be defined as a network where everything can communicate and interact with each other without human intervention, this concept is considered as one of the most prominent technologies, and a critical factor in the development of smart cities applications. However, the full potential of this technology is still far away due to the challenges faced by this technology such as security. Software Defined Network (SDN) has been seen as a potential solution of the IoT paradigm. This paper discusses the security problems IoT and SDN and explain how can SDN contribute in overcoming the security challenges of IoT.
