The technology can be in many ways to help visually impaired people, but the problem of identifying objects and reading hard copy documents by blind people is still a challenging task.The aim of this study was to design an efficient and costeffective method for object detection and optical character recognition for visually impaired people.This project was designed and developed for android devices as an application, which can have downloaded and installed on any android smart phone typically having camera, voice processing unit and internet access.Android was chosen, because it has been already proliferated in the market to a very great extent.
