In Tribute to Joe Wang
José Manuel Pingarrón · Electroanalysis · 2019
Now that Joe Wang is stepping down as Editor-in-Chief after having led this Journal admirably ever since its inception 30 years ago, I feel compelled to dedicate him a little tribute for his impeccable work and wonderful friendship during these years in which I have been lucky to be at the forefront of Electroanalysis besides him. It is indisputable that, as in everything he does, Joe has brought an unmatchable energy to the Journal making it an attractive forum for a very large community. He has also the ability to bring out the best in all the people who work with him. Together with the other associate editors Profs. I-Ming and Yoon-Bo, and previously with Prof. Karyakin, we have worked in a very comfortable and efficient way to set the quality standards for the Journal, expand the areas of scope and organize excellent regional and topical issues. It is indisputable that Joe will always be the soul of Electroanalysis and his leadership and wisdom will be unmatchable, but at this moment I feel tremendously grateful for having learned so much from him and really enjoyed a lot sharing with him this special project. Personally, I will do my best to keep this special legacy at least at the level Joe leaves it, with the security that, besides feeling the spirit with which Joe impregnates all his projects, we will always count on him for helping and advising us in all the matters that may arise. The unique personal and professional qualities that Joe has fed this Journal with and by extension to all of us since the beginning: positive attitude, teamwork, rigor, patience, accessibility, willingness to support, passion and effort, will be our driving forces to reach the highest objectives we can imagine. WITH THE BEST WISHES AND THE GREATEST OF GRATITUDE, José Manuel Pingarrón José Pingarrón and Joe Wang during the 2016 ESEAC meeting in June 2016 in Bath, UK.
