The Effect of Regularization Parameter within Non-blind Restoration Algorithm Using Modified Iterative Wiener Filter for Medical Image

Alaa H. Sheer, Ayad A. Al-Ani · 2018

Image restoration deals with bringing back the degraded image to its original state, i.e. it helps to restore the degraded image into more sharp and pure image. X-ray images play a vital role in dealing with the detection of several diseases in patients and they face the problem of noise and Gaussian blur. The aim of this paper, is to study the effects of regularizing parameter (α), via non-Blind Iterative Wiener filter, for restoring a medical image The study have been done using Gaussian blurring function, width (δ) = 1, and with different value of additive Gaussian Noise, i.e. different values of the signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) = 5 and 30. The results shows that best the result was obtained in case of α equal to one, and with small width of blurring function and high values of SNR.
