Plans and Strategies in Explanation Dialogues
Giacomo Ferrari, Irina Prodanof, Michele Carenini · 1991
In this paper the plan-based approach to discourse modelling is briefly discussed and its inadequacy to the tratment of explanatory discourse is shown. The need for a static representation of communication schemata is advocated, and, consequently, the requirements for such a representation are laid down. A graph-like formalism is selected and some examples of its use are discussed in detail. Finally, a preliminary formal definition of an ATN-like metalanguage is attempted.
