The Whats, Hows, and Whys of Wireless Networking [Book\/Software Reviews]
James Chu · IEEE Microwave Magazine · 2019
This book is a collaboration by four authors from Johns Hopkins University whose goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of the entire wireless networking landscape. They accomplish this by focusing on what they consider to be the important and interesting aspects of wireless technologies; they do not spend much time covering fundamental topics and do not repeat every detail from a technology specification. This book not only provides the what of a technology but also tries to answer the why and how. It is filled with “killer” tables and figures, making it the first stop for an answer. The text will help readers understand the current wireless networking landscape as well as how we have gotten here and where we are going. This book collects all major advanced information about wireless networking within a single cover. It is written for the working professional, experienced wireless network system designer, and researcher. As it does not discuss fundamental theory and the concept of wireless networking, it is not for a newcomer.
