Audio Steganography is a method that ensures secured data transfer between parties. Least Significant Bit (LSB) data hiding technique is an efficient and simple technique used for audio steganography but could be easily discovered. The idea behind this research is to deliver secured satellite telemetry data through the audio beacon signal. Two ways are used to improve the conventional audio steganography LSB technique. First way is to increase the capacity of the hidden telemetry data. But the second one is to increase the robustness, while keeping the beacon audio signal imperceptible. This research proposes two novel approaches to increase capacity and robustness. The first approach is to randomize the selected frame that is used to hide data by using PN sequence generator. Furthermore, the second is to embed secret message in higher significant bits rather than least significant ones. To achieve the imperceptibility of the audio signal, the target audio should be optimized. However, optimization approach is based on simulated annealing (SA). Signal-To-Noise Ratio (SNR) is used as a benchmark to measure the performance of the proposed algorithm. Results proved the superiority of proposed approach.
