System-environment correlations in qubit initialization and control

This paper presents numerical results on the coupling between qubits and a low-temperature bath. The results show that there exist a strong coupling that gives rise to Lamb shift and bath entanglement and uncover a trade-off between speed and accuracy. However, this does not pose an issue for the execution of quantum gates and these can be modeled using the standard, weak-coupling approach
