A GeoJSON-based Mission Planning Language for AUV (AUVGeoJSON Language)

Alexander Pavin, Alexander Inzartsev · 2018

The paper suggests an approach to mission planning for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). The mission is a formalized description of the tasks that an AUV has to perform during operation. A special feature of the approach is the unification of the mission planning language for a large class of surveillance and search AUVs. The language allows specifying the desired behavior of any AUV and automatically adjusts to the design features of the underwater robot. The basis of the language is the GeoJSON standard. This allows the use of existing graphics engines for interactive mission editing (including the drag-n-drop principle).
