Of course, live-video is all about live, in-the-moment stuff: it&s;s great to point our camera phone at something and go live. After all, it&s;s those qualities that make these apps such soar-away successes. And as long as we speak clearly and have light enough to see, we shouldn&s;t need too much more &s;equipment investment&s;. Using the mic on our phone is usually fine if we are inside. Some phones come with a set of wired headphone earbuds, which have a microphone built into them which can also be used. People can take magnificent video or stunning still photos on their phones using focus and exposure settings or pull-focus techniques, but none of these is available through live-streaming apps, although we can adjust the brightness slightly in the Facebook Live menu. It&s;s inevitable that the lens of our phone will get dirty and dusty. After all, it spends a lot of time in our pocket or bag.
