A Distinct external Control Loop is a promising approach to design autonomic computing systems. However, the existing designs, such as the MAPE-K Control Loop, are too general (i.e. they lack sufficient details about the structure and the dynamic of its sub-parts) and are not using well established design models. So, using the Fractal Component Model, we propose a Component-Based MAPE-K Control Loop model. The resulted MAPE-K Composite Component is sufficiently precise and explicit as it highlights the detailed architecture and hierarchy of the MAPE-K and its sub-components respectively. In addition, the proposed model promotes the reuse and the sharing of components as needed. In addition, it simplifies the maintenance of the MAPE-K Composite Component by the add, the remove, and the replacement of its sub-components.
