To take full advantage of wireless mesh networks and cooperative transmission simultaneously, a cooperative PMP/Mesh topology is presented in this paper. Firstly, a hierarchy cooperative mesh topology is presented. Secondly, cooperative CSMA/CA, a modified medium - access-control protocol is proposed to support cooperative PMP and relay links in PMP/Mesh hybrid access networks. Simulation results show that the cooperative CSMA/CA can support cooperative PMP/Mesh hybrid access networks effectively.
