Research on Dynamic Switch Migration Strategy Based on FMOPSO

Jingmei Li, Xinliang Hu, Mengqi Zhang · 2018

This paper proposes a dynamic switch migration strategy (FMOPSO-DSMS) based on fuzzy multi-objective particle swarm optimization for SDN multi-controller load imbalance problem. This strategy first converts the mapping relationship between the controller and the switch to a 0-1 matrix; then it models the SDN controller load balancing problem, and takes the controller load balancing degree, the average minimum transmission hop count, and the switch migration number as the objective. The function and the corresponding constraint conditions were designed at the same time. Finally, a fuzzy multiobjective particle swarm optimization algorithm was used to solve the above model. In the SDN simulation environment built by Mininet and Floodlight, deploy FMOPSO-DSMS for verification. The final experimental results show that compared with DSMA and M-DSMA, FMOPSO-DSMS can effectively reduce the average transmission hops and the number of switches in the network, reduce the network transmission delay and the cost of migration, while effectively implementing controller load balancing.
