INeSiS: integrated network protocols and signal processing simulator

The complexity of telecommunication systems leads to the need of a fast, flexible and easy to use simulation environment. The INeSiS is a framework for the execution of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Discrete Event (DE) simulations, composed by two different sets of classes: MuDiSP which can be used for simulating synchronous systems and NePSi useful in events simulations. MuDiSP environment allows multirate, handles iterative algorithms and the data flowing through its branches is completely user-defined. The NePSi environment is tailored to allow easy simulation of systems where blocks receive \\emph{events}, whose execution is managed by a user-transparent scheduler. A custom time representation is used to overcome the resolution problems of floating point number providing support for both slotted (TDMA) and asynchronous (CDMA) systems.
