The only sensor capable of non-intrusively and harmlessly detecting even stationary persons through the steel walls of cargo containers, truck bodies, and train cars has been developed and demonstrated. This paper presents the design and performance of a breadboard model of an active acoustic sensor based on a patent-pending impact transducer and matched resonant receiver.
